Mur is an important example of the Castells Fronteres (frontier castles) and a symbol of 11th century non-religious architecture.
Mur Castle and the nearby Collegiate Church of Santa María de Mur are like a king and his queen. They sit strategically on a hill which dominated the Conca de Tremp and the Terradets reservoir and provide amazing views.
