d’Os Castle is known as the unconquerable castle or “Os MalignumCastrum” and overlooks the village of Os de Balaguer. It was originally a 9th century Muslim fort. Restored in 2011 and declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest.
Os de Balaguer is also famous as the place where the Bell-Ringers of Catalonia meet every April. Thanks to them, inside the castle, in an impressive Gothic hall, we find the Museo de Campanas de Cataluña (Bells of Catalonia Museum).
We recommend a visit to d’Os Castle, the Museo de Campanas de Cataluña (Bells of Catalonia Museum) and a stroll around the streets of Os de Balaguer.
Guided tours
At the Museo de Campanas de Cataluña you can learn basic bell-ringing techniques and after a short test, opt for the Bell-Ringers of Catalonia card.
